【オンライン開催】スタンフォード大学d.school講師による、デザイン思考ワークショップを開催しました

WASEDA-EDGE人材育成プログラムは、米国スタンフォード大学d.schoolの講師3名による「デザイン思考を活用したアイデア創出ワークショップ」を、オンラインで開催しました。ワークショップには、41名の文系理系を問わず多様なバックグラウンドや専門を持つ学部生や大学院生、社会人が参加しました。
3日間のワークショップでは、3名の講師とともにバナナやノートなど身近なものを使用したアイデア創出や、グループワーク、プロトタイプの作製を通じてデザイン思考を学びました。

The WASEDA-EDGE Global Talent Development Program held an online an idea creating workshop, utilizing design thinking methodology." with three lecturers from the Stanford University d.school in the U.S.
The workshop was attended by 41 students with diverse backgrounds and specialties in the arts and sciences, including undergraduate, graduate and adult students.
The three-day workshop Participants learned design thinking with three instructors through idea creating and group work, and prototyping using familiar objects such as bananas and notebooks.

■講師(lecturers)

Thomas Both

Thomas is a designer and design educator whose passion is helping people understand the practice of human-centered design—and their ability as designers—to innovate how they learn, think, and solve problems. He is director of the Designing for Social Systems program at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school) at Stanford University. In this program, he teaches professionals how to apply design thinking to complex social challenges and facilitates workshops for social impact leaders to develop a more human and strategic practice.

Scott Witthoft

Professional space and product designer; Associate Professor of Practice at University of Texas at Austin; former Fellow and lecturer at the Stanford University d.school. Scott is author of the book “Make Space,” a tool for designing collaborative spaces. He has a professional background in structural engineering.

David Janka

Design consultant and creative strategist; former Fellow and current lecturer at the Stanford University d.school. David has a medical degree from Stanford and works to integrate design thinking principles into medical education, healthcare delivery, and medical device design.

・It was better than I expected because we cooperated in a more interactive way between the lecturers and audiences.
・Although the design workshop was online, there were a lot of fun hands-on activities.It was very fun and I learned a lot of new skills.
・It's pretty good! The contents were well-organized and the instructors were teaching in an engaging way. I've learnt so many things such as observation,brainstorming, understanding the problems,innovating, etc.
